About Brisbane 2032
The Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games (the “Games”) will be the largest event in South-East Queensland’s history, with the potential to deliver transformational change to our region. As the name suggests, the Brisbane Organising Committee for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games (“Brisbane 2032”) is responsible for organising the Games. Some of Brisbane 2032’s operational responsibilities include: raising revenue through sponsorship, ticketing and the sale of Brisbane 2032 merchandise, sourcing the goods and services required to deliver the Games, managing the temporary overlay and operation of the venues and recruiting thousands of volunteers as well as many other elements that are essential in staging a world class global sporting event.

About the position
The Communications Team Member will report to the Head of Communications and sit within the broader Brand, Digital and Communications team. Primary responsibilities will focus on communications and media support, with additional responsibilities across brand and digital support. This is an early career development role, with opportunities to grow as part of the team and overall life cycle of the Organising Committee through to 2032. Reporting lines may change as the organisation scales.
Key Responsibilities
Support the research and development of communications approaches and strategies
Write, edit, proofread and format internal and external copy
Maintain and update communications databases
Support the development and delivery of periodic and campaign specific reporting
Support content development, optimisation and implementation for Brisbane 2032’s digital channels (website, email, social) including planning, creating, sourcing, testing and analysis of results
Support the planning, delivery and communication of Brisbane 2032 stakeholder, media and community events
Support the design, development and roll out of brand and creative assets for Brisbane 2032
Support the team’s administration of processes and policies, including finance
Desired Experience and Competencies
Communications or marketing tertiary qualifications are highly desirable
Minimum 2 - 3 years’ relevant communications, media and / or marketing experience
Excellent attention to detail and process driven
Excellent copy writing skills across channels and audiences, including media releases, social media posts, campaign plans and website copy
Strong team player who is happy to work in what will initially be a small collegiate team
Strong organisational and time management skills, with a proven ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment
Demonstrated understanding of Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)
Experience briefing external agencies for the purposes of content creation and development, i.e. photography, videography, graphic design, website content, social content
Experience in pulling post-campaign reporting, analysis and insights to drive continuous improvement
Relationships
Internal relationships: reports to Head of Communications and will be required to work closely with all Brisbane 2032 functional areas, in particular the brand, events and digital functions
External relationships: media, Games Delivery Partners, agencies, and suppliers
