A unique opportunity has arisen for an experienced and proactive Executive Assistant to support the CEO and Board of a values-driven not-for-profit organisation working to create lasting social change.

This is a diverse and dynamic role where no two days are the same. You will play a key role in supporting executive operations, governance processes, HR coordination, and the ongoing development of business systems that enable impactful work across advocacy, policy, and sector support.

About the role

This position is central to the smooth operation of the executive office and wider organisation. You will provide high-level strategic and operational support to the CEO, coordinate Board and Committee functions, and act as a trusted point of contact for internal and external stakeholders. You will also oversee key HR processes, payroll preparation, compliance, and contribute to continuous quality improvement across systems and operations.

Key responsibilities
  • Manage CEO calendar, correspondence, briefing materials, and stakeholder engagements
  • Coordinate Board and Committee meetings, papers, governance documentation, and minutes
  • Provide high-level administrative and office management support
  • Oversee internal systems including HRIS, CRM, SharePoint and Microsoft 365
  • Liaise with IT providers and ensure cyber security and privacy standards are upheld
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, offboarding and payroll processes in line with employment awards
  • Contribute to risk management, audits, insurance renewals and compliance frameworks
  • Supervise administration staff and ensure optimal operation of office systems
  • Actively promote and support a positive and inclusive organisational culture
About you

You are a highly organised, tech-savvy and confident professional with experience supporting executive leadership in a complex or purpose-driven organisation. You bring sound judgement, attention to detail and a deep understanding of good governance, HR processes, and system coordination.
You will have:
  • Proven experience supporting a CEO or Executive Director, including Board engagement
  • Strong skills in managing Microsoft 365, SharePoint, CRM and digital collaboration tools
  • Experience coordinating HR, payroll or compliance processes
  • A solid understanding of operational systems in a not-for-profit or values-based environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Discretion and professionalism in handling sensitive information
