Forensicare is the statutory agency responsible for the provision of forensic mental health services across Victoria. These services are delivered through three streams, inpatient services at Thomas Embling Hospital, community services through the Community Forensic Mental Health Service and prison-based services at several locations.
In partnership with the Victorian Health Building Authority, Forensicare are currently in design phase for a major redevelopment project that will add a further 82 beds to the Thomas Embling Hospital in Fairfield.
The project has a High Value High Risk classification and received government funding in May 2021.
The Role – Executive Director, Redevelopment and Asset Management
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Executive Director will provide leadership and expertise in the redevelopment of the Thomas Embling Hospital from planning and design oversight through to operational readiness. Working in close partnership with the Victorian Health Building Authority who are responsible for delivering the building works, the Executive Director will lead the Forensicare redevelopment project team to ensure Forensicare contributions in relation to facility design; and to ensure operational planning, commissioning and operational readiness are comprehensive, well planned and delivered on time.
In addition to leading this major redevelopment you will also have responsibility for effective asset management across all Forensicare sites through leadership of the Infrastructure and Site Services team, ensuring seamless facility management site-wide.
About You
Successful applicants for this role will demonstrate the following skillset:
- Tertiary qualifications in Architecture, Construction, Engineering or a Health discipline
- Proven track record leading teams to deliver large scale capital development projects
- Ability to engage and influence complex stakeholder groups
- Demonstrated people leadership skills
- Experience in commissioning and operational planning
- Strong understanding of asset management
- Health and/or Government experience will be highly regarded
