About the Position
Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll and finance processes. Key responsibilities include:
- End-to-end payroll processing, including superannuation, tax compliance, and reconciliations (payroll including players, permanent and casual staff)
- First point of contact for payroll queries from employees and stakeholders
- Preparing payroll-related reports, including month-end, year-end, and audit support
- Maintaining payroll and T&A systems, ensuring data integrity and compliance
- Assisting with finance tasks such as reporting, budgeting, and journal entries
- Assisting with projects, reporting and broader administrative support across the function.
About You
You will bring experience and confidence in managing payroll and finance responsibilities, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively. To be successful, you will have:
- Proven experience in payroll and finance, ideally in an end-to-end payroll position
- Understanding of payroll legislation, taxation, and modern award interpretation
- Proficiency with payroll systems and Excel (currently iChris and UKG, upcoming implementation of WorkDay)
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Strong communication skills and a commitment to customer service
- A proactive mindset with the ability to identify improvements and deliver solutions
- A values-driven approach, with professionalism and integrity in all interactions
