About the role:
This role reports to the Group FC and is focused on optimising financial facets for Eastern Australia wholesale and retail operations. Key duties involve financial planning, analysis, reporting, and managing working capital for the region. Support will be provided by Christchurch head office functions.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor key financial metrics and KPIs to track the EA region's performance and identify opportunities for improving profitability and operational efficiency.
- Provides timely monthly commentary to the Group FC for Board Reporting
- Partner with Regional and Branch Managers to review performance and align financial strategies with business goals and drive performance improvements.
- Conduct profitability analysis by customer, product, and market segment to drive revenue growth.
- Assists with conducting scenario analysis and sensitivity modelling to support strategic decision-making.
- Oversee financial compliance and internal controls within the EA region.
- Support monitoring working capital metrics and implementing strategies to optimize working capital, including managing inventory levels, accounts receivable, WIP, and accounts payable.
- Forecasting cash flows to support daily operations and long-term planning.
- Assists with evaluating existing financial processes and identifying areas for improvement, automation, and efficiency gains.
- Tertiary education in Business, Accounting, Economics or similar
- CPA/CA qualified
- Industry exposure to Wholesale, Retail or Manufacturing or other product-based industry preferred but non-essential
- You have a demonstrated experience in a Commercial Analyst or FBP position
- Excellent communication skills to clearly articulate financial insights to non-finance stakeholders
- You will have strong financial modelling and analysis skills and be self-motivated to drive efficiency and improvement
