About the Role
Reporting to the Sydney-based CFO and partnering closely with senior leaders across the US and Canada, this role will work on financial management, reporting, and compliance activities across both regions, notably relating to compliance and tax requirements in the regions.
You’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, maintaining compliance with regional tax and regulatory requirements, and providing commercial insights that drive performance.
This position offers flexibility in structure — full-time or part-time options are available — with working hours designed to align with North American stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all financial reporting and compliance activities for the US and Canadian entities
- Manage external accountants and auditors to ensure timely and accurate filing of federal, state, and provincial tax returns
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP, Canadian tax laws, and internal policies
- Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and month-end close processes
- Deliver insightful analysis and commentary to support commercial and strategic decisions
- Manage cashflow forecasting, working capital, and treasury reporting
- Oversee payroll reconciliations, bonus processes, and accounts receivable performance
- Support ERP improvements and system integrations to streamline processes
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA or equivalent qualification preferred)
- Strong understanding of US and Canadian tax and compliance requirements essential
- Working knowledge of IFRS standards
- Experience using ERP systems such as NetSuite or similar
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and analytical capability
- Flexibility to work hours aligned with North American stakeholders
- Competitive salary of around $110,000 FTE + Super (potentially negotiable depending on experience)
