The Role
This is a hands-on leadership role, supporting both the CFO and senior management team, while also driving process improvements and providing valuable financial insights to support decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage, prepare, and reconcile project progress claims, labour, and plant hire invoicing.
  • Prepare and review monthly project reports, analysing results and liaising with the Construction Manager on performance and variances.
  • Review balance sheet items, identifying and actioning corrections where required.
  • Manage and prepare reconciliations for all sub-ledgers (accounts payable, accounts receivable, and invoice register).
  • Prepare monthly consolidated management reports for board meetings and coordinate board packs.
  • Collaborate with external auditors and implement new accounting standards and recommendations.
  • Develop operational plans and policies aligned with business strategy.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage accounting and contract administration staff, including performance reviews and professional development.
  • Provide operational and financial support to project managers, operational managers, and other stakeholders.
  • Identify and implement improvements to processes, systems, and controls to increase efficiency and reduce risk.

This is an initial 5 month position with potential of becoming something more permanent. 


Skills & Experience

You are a CA/CPA qualified finance professional with a strong track record at a senior leadership level of driving financial performance and ensuring strong controls and efficient processes. You have a demonstrable expertise in building and leading high performing teams, getting the best out of your staff through motivating them and providing ongoing development.  You are a commercial and strategic thinker, who is proactive in monitoring trends and identifying opportunities, developing and executing plans to maximise financial performance and ensure ongoing improvement of processes and enhancing operational efficiency.
