Our client is a small but growing property developer based in the Inner Suburbs. They have recently gone through an exciting period of growth and are looking for a motivated Financial Controller to join their fast paced, high-performing and growing environment in a newly created role.
With recent growth comes the need for a motivated and ambitious Financial Controller to support the MD and the SLT by leading the finance team. You will have a focus on reporting, financial analysis, business partnering, strategy as well as managing and growing the finance team.
A key component of the role will require working collaboratively with key operational stakeholders to provide commercial and financial support as well as driving simplification of systems and processes.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Lead the daily operations of the finance function
- Preparation of monthly/quarterly management reports
- Analysis and commentary on performance
- Assistance with feasibility for developments and projects
- Oversee and manage compliance obligations including annual financial statements (BAS, Payroll, etc.)
- Investor relations / reporting
The ideal candidate will be CA or CPA qualified with experience in a property development / construction environment or a first mover from Big 4/Mid-Tier with a passion about the industry.
You have the credibility and presence to provide leadership to a team and engage extensively with non financial stakeholders, while also being able to work independently and objectively. You have outstanding analytical and planning skills, and a well developed commercial acumen. You will also have an excellent track record of providing sound, well reasoned advice in support of key commercial and strategic decisions.
