This role sits as Head of the External Reporting function and will see you lead a dynamic team through half-year and year-end reporting processes. You'll be the trusted advisor, providing technical accounting expertise and ensuring that financial information meets the highest standards. This is a pivotal role within a large, well-respected, with the opportunity to shape external reporting practices and make a significant impact on the overall business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the external financial reporting for the group, ensuring compliance with all relevant accounting standards.
  • Provide expert technical accounting advice to business units on key transactions and reporting matters.
  • Oversee the preparation of high-quality financial reports, liaising with external auditors and stakeholders to deliver accurate, timely information.
  • Ownership of the external audit relationship on all technical matters and in the completion of the Group’s statutory audit requirements.
  • Lead, motivate, and coach a large cross-functional team through complex reporting deadlines.
  • Preparation of technical accounting papers to support key accounting positions in respect of the financial results.
  • Lead the group through key projects including acquisitions and divestments. 
  • Build strong relationships with business units and provide practical solutions to accounting and reporting challenges.
  • Work directly with the Group CFO, Group FC, GM of Investor Relations and other key members of the finance team.
  • Ensure the continuous improvement of processes and the quality of financial reporting outputs.
The Person
  • CA/CPA accreditation with 10+ years relevant experience.
  • Large ASX listed company experience in financial reporting.
  • Big-4 chartered background with progression to Senior Manager / Director level. 
  • Proven leadership ability with experience managing large teams through demanding reporting cycles.
  • A keen eye for detail, coupled with a strategic mindset.
  • A passion for continuous improvement.
