The Company
A major Australian manufacturing and distribution group with a large operational footprint is seeking an experienced Group Financial Controller to lead the group finance function. At the forefront of their specialised market, this business has scaled globally and now operate in 100+ countries worldwide. This is a rare opportunity to shape the group function during a period of transformation, systems uplift and business expansion.  

The Role
Reporting to the Group CFO, this role plays a critical part in strengthening group reporting, consolidation and financial governance across multiple local and international entities. This is a true “hands-on” leadership role, balancing technical excellence with people leadership and commercial partnership.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Leading month-end, quarter-end and year-end close at group level.
  • Ownership of group reporting and consolidation across multiple entities.
  • Oversight of treasury, cashflow forecasting, banking relationships and covenant compliance.
  • Ensuring strong internal controls, financial governance and statutory compliance.
  • Leading and developing a capable finance team of 3 direct reports and 8–10 indirect reports across the wider finance function. 
  • Driving continuous improvement across reporting, processes and systems.
  • Acting as a trusted finance partner to the executive and broader leadership team.
About You
You are an experienced senior finance leader with a strong grounding in group reporting and consolidation within a multi-entity environment. 
You will bring:

  • Strong technical accounting capability with a commercial mindset.
  • Proven experience in group reporting and consolidation (essential).
  • Experience overseeing treasury and cashflow at group level.
  • Demonstrated people leadership capability within medium to large finance teams.
  • Background in manufacturing or complex operational environments.
  • CA or CPA qualification.
  • Able to accomodate a fully onsite work arrangement (5 days per week) for the first six months with flexibility provided there after.
