The Role

As the Head of Buying & Product, you will take full ownership of the product lifecycle from concept through to production across Men’s, Women’s and Accessories. You will lead the development and buying function, ensuring product quality, brand integrity, and commercial success across all channels. This is a hands-on, strategic role that requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and commercial acumen.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead product development including design, costing, sampling, packaging, and testing.
  • Manage the critical path from concept to delivery, ensuring timelines and quality standards are met.
  • Direct range strategy and positioning to ensure competitiveness in the Australian and Pacific markets.
  • Conduct ongoing competitor analysis and identify new market opportunities.
  • Collaborate with global teams to leverage international product input and timing advantages.
  • Oversee QA systems, vendor compliance, and ESG initiatives.
  • Manage fit approvals, tooling, and componentry to meet delivery schedules.
  • Support sales channels with product knowledge, training, and seasonal collateral.
Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience in senior product management, buying or sourcing roles—ideally within footwear.
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Technical expertise in footwear design, engineering, and fit.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and project management skills.
  • High level of commercial acumen and strategic thinking.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Project management qualification or equivalent experience is highly regarded.
