About the Role
As the Head of Manufacturing, you will lead the manufacturing strategy and day to day activities in this rapidly growing business. This is a senior leadership role in the organisation. Your time will be split between people leadership and driving the culture for the experienced factory operations staff, and focusing on improving the manufacturing systems and processes (including applying continuous improvement frameworks). You will need to bring energy, structured problem-solving, and a collaborative mindset to the existing stable and highly technically skilled workforce.
Reporting into the General Manager of Operations, you will be based out of the purpose-built factory in Brookvale, NSW (Northern Beaches).
This company has a really strong track record with staff and good tenure across the senior leadership team. We are looking for the next leader to join us on the next phase of our rapid growth journey across these next 10+ years. This is a long-term, stable role at an exciting time in this business.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor and engage a high-tenured team of 25 product staff including assembly workers, fitters, welders and painters.
- Drive the digitisation of workflows and implement performance visual dashboards.
- Foster a collaborative and teamwork focused culture amongst the production floor.
- Champion WHS standards and safety first practices.
- Implement an ISO9001 QMS and ensure all the documentation, audits and corrective actions are up to date.
- 8 years production leadership experience in a manufacturing and industrial environment.
- Demonstrated experience implementing manufacturing systems and driving process improvements.
- Knowledge of ISO9001.
- Exposure and demonstrated examples of using lean and continuous improvement methodology,
- High emotional intelligence, a collaborative, low ego leadership style.
