Reporting to a Partner, this role is ideal for an experienced HR generalist who enjoys variety, autonomy, and making a difference in a close-knit professional services environment. You’ll be the first point of contact for staff and management, supporting HR operations, employee engagement, and business-wide initiatives while fostering a culture of collaboration and growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the go-to HR contact for staff and management, managing sensitive and confidential matters.
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, induction, and HRIS processes (Employment Hero experience desirable).
- Support payroll, leave management, compliance, and reporting in partnership with the Practice Manager.
- Lead performance management processes, training, development, and staff engagement initiatives.
- Coordinate firm functions, events, and wellbeing activities.
- Provide advice and coaching to managers and leaders on employee relations, policies, and HR best practices.
- Contribute to succession planning and talent management.
- Maintain accurate HR documentation, policies, and procedures in line with legislation.
- Minimum 5 years’ HR generalist experience, ideally within professional services (accounting, legal, or consulting).
- Strong knowledge of Australian employment law, ER, and HR best practice.
- Demonstrated experience in recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and employee engagement.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Proactive, approachable, and solutions-focused with strong organisational skills.
- Experience with HRIS systems such as Employment Hero is highly desirable.
