The Opportunity
This HSE Business Partner role sits within the electricity asset division, supporting predominantly engineering and technical teams rather than a traditional field-based workforce.
This is a genuine partnering position where you will work closely with leaders to embed safety into engineering design, procurement and asset lifecycle decision-making. The role focuses on influencing upstream risk controls while also supporting incident investigations, continuous improvement initiatives and organisational learning.
You will join a close-knit HSE team and play a key role in driving practical, risk-based safety outcomes across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the dedicated HSE Business Partner supporting electricity asset and engineering leaders
- Integrate safety principles across design, engineering and procurement processes
- Partner with technical stakeholders to influence safer outcomes at the front end of projects and equipment decisions
- Lead and support incident investigations, reporting and improvement initiatives
- Drive a strong “close the loop” approach to ensure actions and safety improvements are implemented and embedded
- Support and uplift safety capability across teams with varying levels of safety maturity
- Influence a shift from compliance-led safety toward proactive risk elimination and practical controls
- Provide pragmatic, operationally viable safety advice aligned to business outcomes
- Demonstrated experience in a HSE advisory or business partnering role
- Experience working with engineering, technical or asset-based teams highly regarded
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing capability
- Experience supporting investigations, risk management and safety improvement initiatives
- Comfortable operating across varying levels of safety maturity
- Practical, commercially aware and outcomes-focused approach
- Strong prioritisation skills with the ability to manage a broad and evolving scope
