This well-established, highly secure manufacturing organisation is embarking on a major transformation journey. With over 300 employees across blue- and white-collar functions, the business is investing heavily in culture, leadership, and capability development.
With strong executive sponsorship and a dedicated L&D budget, this is a rare opportunity to join an organisation at a pivotal time – and play a lead role in shaping the future of learning and development from the ground up.
About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Learning & Capability Manager, the Learning & Development Lead will be responsible for building and embedding a practical, business-aligned learning strategy. With a strong focus on uplifting capability at all levels – particularly across the technical and operational workforce – you’ll deliver impactful programs that support both individual growth and business performance.
This role will also lead the implementation of a new LMS, introduce structured development pathways, and embed a leadership capability framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver learning programs across both technical (blue-collar) and professional (white-collar) cohort
- Lead the implementation of a new LMS to streamline onboarding, compliance, and self-led learning
- Develop a leadership capability framework and build foundational leadership programs
- Create competency-based pathways and support the transition to a performance & development culture.
- Collaborate with leaders across varied shifts and roles to ensure learning translates to meaningful workplace outcomes
- Standardise training and development processes in a historically manual and ad hoc environment
You are a hands-on L&D professional who thrives in dynamic environments and knows how to build capability in operational workforces. You combine instructional design expertise with excellent stakeholder engagement and the ability to drive outcomes in the real world – not just the classroom.
You will bring:
- Proven experience designing and delivering learning initiatives in manufacturing or industrial environments
- Strong instructional design and facilitation skills
- Experience implementing or operationalising a learning management system (LMS)
- Comfort working across a blue-collar workforce with varying learning needs and shift structures
- A commercial mindset with a continuous improvement approach to L&D
- Excellent relationship-building skills and the ability to influence across all levels
- Be part of a business that’s genuinely investing in people and culture
- Build something meaningful – with budget, executive backing, and freedom to create
- Work in a supportive, collaborative team with a people-first leader
