The Role:
This is an excellent opportunity for a legally trained professional to specialise in contract risk management. You will review and advise on consultancy agreements and associated documents, identifying liability and insurance issues, and providing practical, plain-English advice to clients.
The role also includes delivering training and educational seminars on contracts, insurance, and risk management, and contributing thought leadership pieces to industry audiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review consultancy agreements, novation deeds, IP deeds, certificates, and related documents to identify risk and liability issues.
- Provide written and verbal advice to clients on contractual amendments and negotiations.
- Manage a portfolio of contract reviews in line with service standards.
- Develop and deliver seminars, webinars, and training sessions for clients and industry bodies.
- Contribute articles and guidance notes on contract and risk topics.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of construction law, insurance, and risk management trends.
- Bachelor of Laws or equivalent legal qualification.
- At least 1 year of exposure to construction industry contracts or construction-related legal matters.
- 3 years + experience in contracts, construction law, insurance law, or commercial litigation.
- Strong skills in contract analysis and drafting clear, practical advice.
- Familiarity with consultancy agreements and professional indemnity insurance (or willingness to develop expertise).
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present to groups and build client relationships.
- A client-facing role combining legal expertise with risk management.
