The Opportunity
Reporting to the Head of Legal – ANZ, this is a key legal role supporting commercial operations in Australia and New Zealand, with exposure to broader regional work across APAC and global initiatives spanning the UK, Netherlands, US, and Singapore.
As Legal Counsel, you will act as a trusted advisor to the business, navigating a wide range of legal matters across multiple jurisdictions and functional areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide commercial legal advice to stakeholders across the ANZ business and broader APAC region.
- Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements with customers, suppliers, and partners.
- Advise on legal issues in areas such as corporate law, ESG, agri-business, manufacturing, employment, real estate, litigation, and data privacy.
- Proactively manage legal risks and resolve disputes.
- Support global legal initiatives and cross-border projects.
- Admitted to practice law in Victoria, with a current practicing certificate.
- 5+ years’ post-qualification experience, from a boutique, mid or top tier firm or in-house legal role.
- Strong commercial contracting skills and the ability to advise on a broad range of legal areas.
- Experience in food, agri-business, manufacturing, or regulated industries is regarded.
- Confident managing diverse stakeholders and working across cultures and jurisdictions.
- Sound judgement, commercial mindset, and strong interpersonal skills.
