About the role
Working within a team and reporting to an accomplished General Counsel some of the activities that will form part of your day to day are:
- Review, negotiate, and draft a variety of contracts, including client agreements, supplier contracts, and procurement agreements.
- Develop and maintain standardized contract templates.
- Ensure all contracts comply with local laws and company policies
- Provide high-quality, practical, and timely legal advice to business stakeholders in Australia and the broader APAC region.
- Advise on various legal issues, including employment law, contract law, corporate governance, privacy, and regulatory compliance.
- Support the business in managing legal risks and ensuring compliance with local and international regulations.
- Monitor and interpret new and existing laws, regulations, and industry practices affecting the organization
- Liaise with regulatory authorities to maintain necessary licenses and ensure ongoing compliance.
- 5+ years’ PQE in either private practice or in-house (in-house experience preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree in law.
- General corporate commercial law experience, employment law, privacy law, and contract law in the Australia/Asia Pacific region.
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Strong commercial acumen.
- Excellent multi-tasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks according to urgency and manage stakeholders' expectations.
- Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution.
