About the Role:

Our client, a respected healthcare provider operating Urgent Care Clinics across the Bayside area, is seeking a motivated and organised Medicare Billing Administrator to join their growing support hub. This is a part-time, business support role working closely with the senior leadership team, on a Medicare-focused project aimed at reviewing and optimising billing processes.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with healthcare administration or medical billing experience to contribute to meaningful improvements while working in a supportive, collaborative environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Review current MBS billing patterns among urgent care doctors.
  • Identify missed billing opportunities based on MBS item numbers available to doctors in a UCC environment.
  • Enhance the existing billing process and implement modifications where necessary.
  • Develop and roll out an education strategy to communicate the “most appropriate” item numbers to doctors.
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
  • Liaise with internal teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
Skills & Experience:
  • 3-4 + years’ experience in healthcare administration, medical billing, or a similar administrative role.
  • Strong understanding of MBS item numbers and billing processes in urgent care or general practice settings.
  • Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Confident and professional communicator, both verbal and written.
  • Proactive, team-oriented, and able to manage competing priorities.
  • Experience with medical billing or rostering systems is advantageous.
