Responsibilities
Reporting into the GM of People, the role will involve taking leadership of the Payroll team with key tasks involving:
- Management of a medium sized team of 10 staff
- Overseeing the end to end payroll processing for over 2,500 staff using Chris 21 and Workday on a fortnightly and monthly frequency
- Ensuring the compliance and governance of the payroll
- Completion of PAYG, Payroll Tax, WorkCover and Superannuation payments
- Preparation of monthly payroll journals for posting into the General Ledger
- Senior stakeholder engagement with staff
- Ensure relevant awards and legislation are interpreted
- Develop and strive for process improvement to improve efficiencies
- Proving accurate information in response to employee queries
- Leading system improvements and upgrades
The successful applicant will have proven leadership experience in a similar Payroll Manager position along with the following skills and attributes:
- Previous experience in a payroll leadership role, ideally within a large scale environment
- Exposure to a large system such as Chris 21, iChris, Workday, SAP or SuccessFactors ECP
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- The ability to interpret numerous awards and EBAs
- Proven process improvement initiatives
