The Opportunity
As the Program Manager, you’ll lead the planning, strategy, and delivery of an enterprise-wide ICT program, including initiatives such as Web Content Filtering and Cybersecurity Uplift. The role is responsible for shaping the vision, establishing governance, managing procurement, engaging vendors, and ensuring successful implementation and transition to operations.
This is a hands-on leadership position suited to a Program Manager who thrives in complex government environments and can confidently manage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead program planning, discovery, options analysis, and business case development.
- Establish program governance and assurance frameworks aligned to government standards.
- Drive procurement strategy and vendor engagement to secure best-fit solutions.
- Oversee program delivery, coordinating multiple workstreams, vendors, and change activities.
- Provide strategic advice to senior executives on risks, dependencies, and delivery pathways.
- Ensure smooth operational transition with defined SLAs and long-term service continuity.
- Lead engagement with schools, ICT operations, and agency stakeholders to align priorities.
- Manage budgets, risks, and reporting to achieve successful program outcomes.
- Proven experience as a Program Manager leading large-scale ICT infrastructure or security programs, ideally in government or other complex environments.
- Strong background in cybersecurity, network, cloud, telephony, or content filtering projects.
- Demonstrated ability to establish programs from inception through to delivery and benefits realisation.
- Expertise in vendor management, procurement, and governance frameworks.
- Strong financial and risk management skills, with experience overseeing multi-million-dollar programs.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills across all levels.
- Relevant certifications such as MSP, PRINCE2, PMP, or Agile highly regarded.
