This role sits within a major Financial Management Improvement Program, designed to improve financial accuracy, efficiency, and transparency across operations. It’s a high-profile initiative within a division responsible for delivering one of Queensland’s largest and most diverse portfolios of projects.
The Role
You’ll lead the end-to-end delivery of the FMI Project, applying strong governance, planning, and stakeholder engagement to embed sustainable financial management practices and support long-term organisational maturity uplift.
Responsibilities
- Developing and managing project plans, schedules, and governance documentation
- Leading and coordinating project teams to deliver within agreed scope, time, and budget
- Identifying and managing project risks, issues, dependencies, and change requests
- Preparing high-quality reports, dashboards, and governance packs for executives
- Partnering closely with the Organisational Change Manager to embed new ways of working
- Driving continuous improvement and consistency across financial management practices
Skills required
- Minimum 5 years’ experience leading complex business or transformation projects
- Experience in financial management, process improvement, or audit-driven uplift projects
- Proven success working with multiple workstreams and senior stakeholder groups
- Strong analytical, reporting, and presentation skills,
- A hands-on, delivery-focused approach with the ability to influence across all levels
- PRINCE2, AgilePM, or equivalent will be well regarded
