A newly created role to work with an established organisation during a significant period of transformation. They are looking to hire a strong candidate initially on a 4-5 month assignment (Strong potential for longer term and other opportunities available in the business) to come in and assist with a project to lead the clean up of the R2R function, particularly balance sheet reconciliations as there is a high number of outstanding.
The responsibilities:
- Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and manage expectations proactively.
- Lead clean up of balance sheet reconciliations, identify root cause of issues
- Manage delivery risk, control gaps, and compliance deviations proactively.
- Review and assess all existing balance sheet reconciliations for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with company policy.
- Identify aged, unsupported, or unreconciled balances and investigate underlying causes.
- Standardise reconciliation formats, supporting documentation, and review controls.
- Implement best-practice reconciliation procedures and documentation standards.
- Ensure reconciliations meet audit and internal control requirements.
- Work closely with the offshore Shared Services team to clarify reconciliation expectations.
- Strong experience with balance sheet reconciliations and account clean-ups.
- Experience working within shared services or finance transformation environments, leading a reconciliation clean up project
- Experience working in or with offshore BPO (Desirable)
- Strong investigative and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to partner with, and influence senior stakeholders within a business
- Process-improvement mindset - the approach to clean up the function long term.
