The Role

An exciting opportunity exists for a Senior Accountant to take ownership of financial and statutory reporting across the Australian and New Zealand (ANZ) operations of a global organisation.

Reporting to the ANZ Head of Finance, you will manage month-end close, statutory reporting and compliance activities, while partnering closely with both local and offshore finance teams. You’ll play a key role in maintaining strong internal controls, ensuring compliance with local and US GAAP standards, and driving continuous improvement across the accounting function.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with FP&A and operations teams to provide analysis and insights that support business decision-making.
  • Support M&A activities and regional consolidated reporting requirements.
  • Manage monthly, quarterly and annual close and reporting in line with US reporting deadlines.
  • Prepare and review statutory returns including GST, FBT and income tax.
  • Review balance sheet reconciliations, accruals and prepayments prepared by offshore teams.
  • Prepare IFRS-compliant financial statements and support internal and external audits.
  • Ensure SOX compliance and adherence to company accounting policies and internal controls.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and best practices.

The Candidate
You are a CA or CPA-qualified accountant with experience in financial accounting, including exposure to public accounting (Big 4 or mid-tier) and experience within a multinational environment.
You bring:
  • Strong technical knowledge of Australian GAAP and IFRS.
  • Experience using major ERP systems (Oracle preferred; SAP/JDE/Great Plains also considered).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • The ability to collaborate effectively with both local and offshore teams.
  • Exposure to US GAAP (advantageous).

The Organisation

You’ll join a global business that values integrity, innovation and continuous improvement. Working in a flexible and supportive environment, you’ll have the autonomy to make an impact and the opportunity to collaborate with talented professionals across the region.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on, detail-oriented accountant who enjoys working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with international exposure.
