About the Role
Reporting to the Financial Controller, this Senior Accountant position is a broad and hands-on role, responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial reporting across both the Australian business and a small overseas office. You will play a key part in driving process improvement, supporting budgeting and forecasting, and ensuring compliance with group reporting standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing and reviewing monthly financial statements, reconciliations, and analysis for management reporting
- Reviewing and approving payment runs, monitoring AP/AR, and ensuring timely bank reconciliations
- Assisting with statutory reporting, tax returns, BAS and FBT lodgements
- Preparing fortnightly and monthly payroll, along with associated reporting requirements
- Supporting the annual budgeting process and contributing to financial modelling and analysis
- Acting as a trusted business partner, providing support and insights to various functions across the business
- Identifying and implementing process improvements and cost-saving initiatives
The ideal candidate will be a CA/CPA qualified accountant with at least 5 years’ post-qualification experience in a similar role. You will bring strong technical accounting knowledge, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment.
You will also demonstrate:
- Proven experience in financial and management reporting
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and Excel skills
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing deadlines
- Industry experience in Manufacturing will be highly regarded
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage across all levels of the business
- A proactive and positive mindset, with a focus on continuous improvement
- Experience with IFRS or ERP systems
