Senior Accountant / Finance Manager – Retail Sector
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant / Finance Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be a key player in managing the month-end close process, performing accurate balance sheet reconciliations, and ensuring overall financial reporting excellence within our organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Daily management of the Finance function, including but not limited to banking,
  • Accounts Receivable, transactional accounting, financial accounting, and reporting.
  • Detailed preparation of profit and loss accounts, capex, balance sheets and cash flow.
  • Consolidate profit and loss accounts for the Group of Companies of the Division.
  • Prepare monthly and annual board reports by the set deadlines.
  • Ensure all journals are reviewed and approved on a monthly and yearly basis.
  • Ensure monthly accruals are accurately accounted for.
  • Work with Payroll to ensure correct allocation of payroll costs.
  • Ensure reconciliation of stock monthly.
  • Preparation of accounts based on AASB 16 Lease Reporting.
  • Work closely with the Accounts Payable & Inventory departments to ensure that accounts are paid within the required times and in-line with supplier agreements /arrangements.
  • Maintain the integrity of the Companies Financial and Accounting System and develop processes and procedures to improve and increase efficiencies.
  • Directly managing the annual audit process with external auditors.
Key Requirements:    
  • CA/CPA qualified.
  • Proven experience in retail or FMCG sector, ideally with strong exposure to month-end processes and balance sheet reconciliation.
  • Strong technical accounting skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in financial systems and advanced Excel skills.
