The Role
As a Senior Clinical Costing Analyst, you will lead a small team in managing Monash Health’s enterprise-wide clinical costing system. This data is vital to ensuring accurate state and federal funding and supports strategic decision-making at every level of care delivery.
You will play a pivotal role in:
- Enhancing the maturity of the clinical costing function.
- Leading the improvement of activity-based costing methodologies.
- Driving innovation and automation within finance and analytics.
- Collaborating with stakeholders across finance, clinical operations, digital health, and external partners.
- Lead and mentor a team of analysts while driving process improvement.
- Manage data accuracy between general ledger, patient activity, and costing systems.
- Oversee costing submissions to the Department of Health and Health Round Table.
- Liaise with clinicians and executives to validate cost allocation models and revenue performance.
- Design and deliver advanced costing reports and insights for strategic decision-making.
- Support integration of activity-based costing into monthly reporting processes.
You’re a finance or data leader with a passion for healthcare and a flair for technical and analytical complexity. You’ll bring:
- A degree in Accounting, Commerce, Business or IT (or related field).
- Deep expertise in activity-based funding, costing, and case mix methodologies.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills.
- Hands-on experience with SQL and financial data tools is welcome.
- A solution-focused approach and a desire to deliver impact at scale.
