About the role

Reporting through to a highly regarded APAC General Counsel you will be play a lead role in the global legal team. Some of the activities you will be involved in are:
  • Lead and drive all legal and contractual aspects of deals and projects, including contract negotiations with customers and partners.
  • Provide legal and integrity advice and counsel and oversee all disputes and litigation matters across Australia and New Zealand.
  • Anticipate the legal needs of the business and areas of gap, and pro-actively plan for and develop the right tools, training, templates and strategy to address those gaps.
  • Advise on and Support local business M&A activity, restructure and liquidation of legal entities, resolutions of disputes, and corporate governance actions to maintain and update legal status of companies and branch offices.
  • Analyze legal issues requested by local business division and provide general legal advice and support in conducting internal and external compliance investigation and due diligence.
About you

You enjoy legal practice within the setting of a business team who operates locally in a global environment. Some of the attributes that will allow you to enjoy this role to fullest are:

  • Minimum 8 years PQE.
  • Full unrestricted Australian and/or New Zealand practising certificate
  • Strong legal experience in a reputable law firm and/or in-house
  • Practical experience in commercial disputes and deal/contract negotiations
  • Excellent drafting skills
  • A strong client focus
  • Ability to travel interstate and overseas as necessary
