Job Responsibilities
With team fit and culture a priority, the business is seeking a dynamic and motivated Senior Payroll Officer / 2IC to join their team. Reporting directly into the Group Payroll Manager, and mentoring a team your duties will include:
- Ensure payroll is processed accurately for permanent and casual staff in a high volume environment
- Interpretation of all relevant awards and entitlements
- Calculations of payroll tax, superannuation and work cover
- Processing new starters, terminations and payroll adjustments
- Partner with the leadership team to identify, recommend and drive process improvements
- Mentoring the close knit payroll team
- Assisting the team to work together to achieve common goals to a high standard
- Preparation of end of month payroll reporting
- Interpretation of numerous EBAs and Awards
- Other duties as requested from the Payroll Manager
Candidate Profile
The role is suited to attract passionate and motivated candidates with prior experience in payroll, who are seeking future growth and development in the payroll field. You will also have the following attributes:
- Desire to work in conjunction with and support the Payroll Manager
- Ability to hit the ground running
- Excellent time management & organisational skills
- Outstanding communication and presentation attributes
- Energetic and positive can do attitude
- Knowledge of payroll processes, taxation, workcover, superannuation & payroll tax legislation
- Experience in the construction industry is highly advantageous
