System Administrator - Vulnerability & Patching Specialist
 
As the System Administrator (Vulnerability Specialist), you will be responsible for patching, upgrading and improving IT infrastructure across multiple platforms as part of a broader vulnerability remediation and uplift program.
 
This position is ideal for an experienced systems administrator or IT operations professional with hands-on expertise in vulnerability remediation and secure system configuration.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Remediate and mitigate cyber security vulnerabilities through patching, configuration updates and system upgrades
  • Manage the full lifecycle of vulnerability remediation, including planning, testing, implementation and change control
  • Assist in developing automated patching strategies aligned to the ACSC Essential Eight
  • Implement automated patching solutions for operating system and application updates across servers, workstations and IoT devices
  • Create and apply Group Policy, Intune policies or scripting-based solutions to address configuration vulnerabilities across a range of device types
About You:
You are an experienced technical professional with a strong foundation in system administration and vulnerability remediation across enterprise environments. You bring strong analytical thinking, excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders.
 
Highly Regarded Experience:
  • 5+ years in IT Operations, System Administration or similar technical roles
  • Experience deploying, configuring and supporting:
    • Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy
    • SQL clusters
    • VMware ESX
    • Commvault
    • Mobile and IoT devices
  • Strong experience with:
    • Intune
    • Azure Update Manager
    • Server monitoring systems
  • Familiarity with Linux environments
  • Strong understanding of ITIL or IT Service Management frameworks
  • Recent hands-on experience in vulnerability management within enterprise, corporate or government settings
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to meet deadlines in high-pressure environments
  • Demonstrated ability to innovate and work collaboratively with a diverse stakeholder group
