The Role Reporting into the CFO, you will take ownership of the month-end process, support project financial reporting, manage the Fixed Asset Register, and provide leadership to the Finance Officer responsible for Accounts Payable. You will also work closely with the CFO and Commercial Manager on analysis, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives. The main responsibilities of the role will include but not be limited to the following. Coordinate GST/BAS and support FBT and novated lease requirements Partner with Project Managers and Commercial leadership to review cost allocations and improve the accuracy of project financial reporting. Perform detailed reconciliations across key accounts, reviewing FY-to-date transactions to identify and resolve allocation discrepancies Oversee AP function and provide guidance to a Finance Officer, ensuring accuracy and control Complete balance sheet reconciliations and support P&L variance analysis Deliver accurate and timely month-end close and management reporting Prepare and post journals including accruals, prepayments, allocations, and depreciation Assist with preparation of the monthly EOM reporting pack Support BAS/GST processing and payroll-related accounting requirements Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis Assist in preparing monthly project reporting across active projects Extract and analyse data from ERP systems and related sources Ensure project financials are accurate and reliable for forecasting purposes Maintain the Fixed Asset Register including additions, disposals, and transfers Process monthly depreciation journals and ensure capitalisation compliance Support internal controls, finance procedures, and data integrity across AP, AR, and GL Support process improvements, automation, and operational efficiencies About You You are a technically capable accountant who thrives in a hands-on environment and enjoys supporting both finance and operational stakeholders. You bring strong attention to detail, a proactive mindset, and the ability to work effectively under deadlines. Previous experience in a Senior Accountant or similar role Strong understanding of month-end processes, reconciliations, journals, and financial controls Advanced Excel capability including lookups, pivot tables, and ideally Power Query Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills CPA/CA qualification or currently working towards completion Exposure to project-based, construction, contracting, or services environments (highly regarded) The Organisation Our client is at a pivotal stage of growth, offering a unique opportunity to play a key role in shaping its financial future.
