The Role

Working closely with the General Manager – Commercial and all key stakeholders, the incumbent will take responsibility for managing Tier 1 and Tier 2 customers while proactively driving new business opportunities. The role requires a strong commercial focus, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within agreed margins, and supported by robust joint business planning and demand forecasting.
The Business Manager will also lead initiatives across pricing, margin optimisation, waste reduction, and innovation, while acting as the key point of escalation for commercial, operational, and product-related matters. Operating with a high level of autonomy, the incumbent will play a pivotal role in shaping growth strategies, building strong customer relationships, and ensuring sustainable business outcomes.


The right candidate

You will bring 5–7 years’ experience in Business Development, Account Management, or Project/Marketing Management within FMCG and/or Manufacturing, ideally in Personal Care, Skincare, or Pharmaceuticals. Degree qualified in Business/Commerce, Science or Marketing, you will demonstrate strong financial and commercial literacy, including P&L, cost accounting and margins.
Energetic, commercially savvy, and entrepreneurially minded, you will thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment where building long-term relationships and delivering growth is key. You will have a proven ability to influence stakeholders, manage complex negotiations, and deliver win-win solutions. Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills, along with the flexibility to travel interstate, will also be expected.


In this role, you will:
  • Manage Tier 1 and Tier 2 customer accounts, while proactively identifying and securing new business opportunities
  • Develop 2–3 year growth strategies, joint business plans, and customer roadmaps to unlock long-term value
  • Deliver profitability improvement initiatives including strategic pricing, CPI adjustments, and proactive margin reviews
  • Lead forecasting and demand planning, ensuring accuracy and proactive communication of fluctuations to internal stakeholders
  • Provide detailed costings, manage tenders, and oversee claims and credits to maintain commercial discipline
  • Conduct market research to identify trends and present product opportunities to new and existing customers
  • Partner with R&D, Marketing, and Supply Chain to deliver Innovation Days, new product launches, and customer presentations
  • Monitor SKU performance, maintain accurate master data, and drive continuous improvement across the product lifecycle
  • Represent the voice of the customer internally, ensuring projects move at pace and deliver to agreed timelines and margin targets
