This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced Payroll Manager to take ownership of a complex, high-volume function and lead a capable team through a period of optimisation and change. The Opportunity As Payroll Manager, you will oversee end-to-end payroll operations for a large and diverse workforce across multiple entities, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and operational excellence. You’ll lead a small but capable team that has capacity to grow, working collaboratively across HR, Finance and broader business functions to streamline processes and deliver continuous improvement. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to a confident payroll professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys driving efficiency and team performance. Key Responsibilities Manage and develop a payroll team, fostering collaboration and accountability. End-to-End Payroll Processing, Oversee timely and accurate processing of high-volume, multi-entity payrolls. Ensure Compliance and reporting adherence to relevant legislation, including PAYG, superannuation, and payroll tax. Identify opportunities for process improvement, system integration, and automation. Support and manage audits and maintain robust internal controls. Partner with senior stakeholders across HR, Finance, and Operations to deliver service excellence. About You Proven experience managing large, complex payrolls (800+ employees). Strong leadership skills with at least 2 years managing teams. Deep understanding of Australian payroll legislation and awards. Advanced Excel and payroll systems knowledge. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
